A loan helped to store palm oil products.

Uju Group's story

Uju is a 46-year-old mother of six. She lives with her husband, who is a farmer. Uju is a very hard working woman who processes palm oil and retails it at the local market.

Her first loan from the Cooperative last year helped her so much. Uju used it to be able to store more palm products, and she used the income from her loan to offset her financial responsibility for her family, especially in paying school fees for her children.

Uju is an active Cooperative member and a loan group leader. Last year, her group delayed in paying back their loan as a result of health challenges of two members of the group. But this year, all of them are fully back to business and assure the cooperative of payment when due.

She Uju will use her portion of the group's loan to process and store palm oil products. will be able to store palm oil this season to increase her income. Her group thanks all Kiva lenders for their support.
