A loan helped to buy sheep to resell later on.

Djiguisseme Group's story

An illiterate Malian woman, Adiara is a member of the group called Djiguisèmè. She is the one who has the ram in the photo. She is married and the mother of one daughter and five sons aged between 2 and 16, of whom only one is enrolled in school.

Adiara buys sheep, feeds them for a certain period, and then resells them at a profit so as to cover the needs of her children. She makes her purchases and her sales in the local markets of their community.

Adiara has regularly reimbursed her loans, and now she is asking for another loan to buy sheep and high quality livestock feed to nourish her sheep well so she can make 80,000 F CFA of profit. This will permit her to cover her children's expenses such as buying new shoes, extra clothing, paying for healthcare charges, and covering part of the household expenses.

Adiara dreams of sending several of her children to school so they can have a better future.
