Cardinal's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm implements, such as fertilizer and seeds, and to start farming so that he can provide a better life for his children.

Cardinal's story

Hello, Kiva community!

Cardinal is a farmer from a remote village in the Kitale area of Kenya. He is a very hardworking person.

Thanks to his daily effort, he has managed to give his family a good start by providing them with a good-quality education.

Cardinal’s primary sources of income are crops and animal farming. He also earns some income from a personal business. He never had a formal education and is content with the farming lifestyle.

The Kitale area is a favorable area for farming, so he is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs such as fertilizer and seeds to enable him to grow more vegetables, reap maximum profits, and also increase his business.

Being a smallholder farmer and accessing funds in Kenya, especially the Kitale area, is very challenging, but Cardinal feels relieved knowing there are institutions such as Kiva that help enterprising people like him. His goal is to improve his living conditions and secure the future of his children.

His biggest dreams are to support his family by himself, to become independent, and to buy a home.

Cardinal really counts on your help and hopes for your attention.
