A loan helped to purchase fertilizer and pesticide in order to grow her crop well.

Thea's Group's story

Thea, aged 46 years, has one small child. She is a local farmer in Ponhea Krek district of Tbaung Khmum province and she has been growing rice and cassava to earn income for survival for almost 28 years. This farming business allows her to save about 9USD each day for future needs. Her crops are not growing well because they are threatened by insects, so this is still the challenge in her business.

To solve this problem, she decided to create a new group of three members to apply for the second loan from VisionFund. The first loan was repaid on time and it has helped to sustain her family’s livelihood as well. For this new cycle, Thea will purchase fertilizer and pesticide in order to grow her crop well. In the future, she hopes that she can earn a good income to upgrade her standard of living.
