It Is The Lord Group's story

Abena (the woman in the middle in the picture) was able to get a lot of new customers with the assistance of her previous Kiva loan, because she was able to have enough stock to meet customer demand on time. Abena used the profit from her sales to pay for her children's educational levies and to provide them with the necessary items for school. In addition, she saved part of the profit earned, towards acquiring a store. Abena wants to put up a complete store, to sell her things indoors, within five years, because she gets disturbed by rains during the rainy season.

Abena is taking out a new loan now, to be able to buy bags of local rice, millet, groundnuts, soya beans, wheat grain, local spices and oil. She will buy these directly from the local farmers, for resale. This will enable Abena to sell at wholesale prices, to her customers. She will save part of the profit made towards acquiring her store. Abena and her group members thank all their Kiva lenders for their generosity.
