Alerta Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped buy more stock such as basic grains, cold cuts, meat, dairy products, and soft drinks.

Alerta Group's story

The Grupo Solidario Alerta has three cheerful members, all enterprising Miskita women from the town of Bilwi, in the municipality of Puerto Cabezas. Four years ago they organized themselves into a group so they could receive loans with a solid guarantee. Their goal was to improve the lives of their families. They decided to call the group Alerta because they are dynamic, active women with a positive vision.

Decilia is a lively woman of 50. She is married and has five adult children. Because she wished to help pay for household expenses, she has been selling enchiladas for more than two decades. Thanks to this income and loans from Pana Pana financed by Kiva, Decilia has established a small grocery store in the passage of her stilt home made of wood.

She is seeking a loan to buy more stock such as basic grains, cold cuts, meat, dairy products, and soft drinks. Decilia's dream is to run a grocery store.
