Virgen De Fatima Group's story

The Banco Comunal Virgen of Fatima is part of the Wari I project. Its members are of the community of La Merced, in the La Merced District, of the Churcampa Province. Most of the population raises livestock, is into agriculture such as growing potatoes, corn, barley, wheat, or is into commercial goods. For example, Delia is married and has four children. She started her business by selling fruit and vegetables in the city of Huanta, and gradually she grew her capital. Now she sells small animals, which she buys in fairs. With the loan that she will receive, she will buy more small animals. Delia’s dreams are to educate her children so they will become professionals and also to save for her retirement. Elsa is a single mother who has three children, 12, 9, and 2 years old. Elsa sells fruit and vegetables in the different fairs of the region. With the loan, she wants to buy more fruit and vegetables. Elsa’s dreams are to buy land for her home and to have her own store for her business. Elsa is saving to buy vaccinated livestock to fatten.
