Jyanti's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to purchase small chicks.

Jyanti's story

Jyanti is 38 years old, married and has two children. Many years ago, she established her poultry farming business. Working seven days a week and four hours a day, she supports her family.

Jyanti requested her seventh loan from Patan BPW, which she will use to buy chicks for her business. In the future, she plans to uplift the economic condition of her family.

In the Kathmandu Valley, raising poultry for eggs and meat is a very profitable business. Kiva loans are used to purchase chicks, food, and necessary medicine to keep the chickens healthy. Once mature, the chickens are sold at small butcher shops or in the many open air markets throughout the valley.
