Namonje's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to increase her daily cash on hand, which allows her customers to send and receive money throughout the country.

Namonje's story

27-year-old Namonje is a single parent of a two-year-old son. Namonje describes herself as a passionate social entrepreneur. She works hard to turn this passion into a reality.

Namonje had the assistance of her parents, so she was able to keep studying until retrenchments within the mines affected her father. Namonje had to quit school because of a lack of funds, but she didn't let this get her down. Working from her entrepreneurial passion, she started a student recruitment project. She was introduced to Zoona mobile money transactions and has been an agent for 3 months.

Namonje is very aware of the lack of banking access in her country and, more specifically, in her community, so she is proud of the impact of her business. With each transaction in which money is sent or received, Namonje earns a profit. She is now able to bring money home for her family and ensure her son is supported. Namonje reached out to Kiva because her business is growing, and she needs to increase her daily cash on hand to assist each customer's mobile transaction. Namonje foresees the increase of funds into her business will increase her profits, which in turn will assist her in completing her degree and providing her family a better standard of living.
