Mariama Bobo's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped buy 75 chickens, three 50-kilo bags of feed, three 30-kilo baskets of cola nuts and five boxes of 10 bars of soap each.

Mariama Bobo's Group's story

This five-member group was set up in December 2010. It is composed of women whose understanding and organization are striking. This is a group where there has been a clear progression since they joined the program. They have various activities, mainly small retail commerce, food processing and rainfed agriculture.

Mrs Mariama Bobo (standing at the far right with one hand raised) is the featured borrower of the group. She is a very active member who plays an important role in raising awareness and managing information. She is a 51-year-old married mother of three children including two boys and one girl.

She is active in raising chickens, selling cola nuts and soap, and will use the new loan to buy 75 chickens, three 50-kilo bags of feed, three 30-kilo baskets of cola nuts and five boxes of 10 bars of soap each.

Her profits serve to bolster her savings, support her husband, and fully cover her children's school transportation costs.
