Gissela Maria's story

Surrounded by a number of beaches, Manta is a beautiful city and a destination for both domestic and foreign tourists. It is the main tuna fishing port, one of the best destinations for cruise ships and is famed for its varied cuisine, which includes traditional dishes such as ceviche. This is where 26-year-old Gissela lives. She lives with her partner and their two children (aged 6 and 4), the elder one of whom goes to school. They live in a house which they take care of in the district of La Pradera. Her husband works and she runs a business breeding creole chickens, which she now supplies on order for social events. She has now been running her business for 2 years. She will use the loan to buy vitamins to feed her chickens. She has been a member of the credit group for 5 years and gets on well with the promoter who helps them with what they need. Her dream is to start building her house again.
