Progreso Ii Group's story

The communal bank "Progreso II" (Progress II) will begin its first cycle on Pro Mujer as part of the German Busch Focal Center. It is composed of 11 members and is directed by a governing board, of which Silvia is the president. The loan which they would like to take out will benefit small microbusinesses in which Silvia is involved. Currently, she has a business selling sweets. She learned this business through her own initiative over several years. This loan will be used to increase working capital and for the wholesale purchase of sweets, which she will procure from wholesale vendors in the city of La Paz, and later on, for commercialization in her retail location. This line of work has enabled her to generate resources to support her family economically; she has a common-law marriage.
