Thint The-1 ( E) Village Group's story

Thint The-1 (E) Village Group is located in Pakokku Township. People in the village rely on traditional farming and raising livestock as their main sources of income. They cultivate crops such as peanuts, sesame, rice, and cotton. Cotton grows especially well in this area, as this region is a place of rich soil, allowing these plants to thrive.

Included in the picture are Khin and San who are the loan clients in Thint The-1 (E) Village Group. Khin (on the left) is a 32-year-old single woman. Through these financial services from Kiva, Khin plans to buy farm inputs such as seeds, fertilizer, and manure so her crops will get more nourishment and produce an increased yield. Some part of the loan will be used to pay for labor fees.

Her goal is to grow healthy, nutritious and productive crops so that she can earn more money and improve the living conditions of her parents. Khin also loves to make handicrafts and, in her free time, she works part-time in a handicraft workshop so as to earn additional income.
