Rukia's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy wheat flour, kilos of rice, cans of cooking oil and ingredients for her food vending business.

Rukia's story

Rukia is a forty-year-old food vendor. She is married with three children. She operates a four-year-old food stall that is daily open from 7 am to 9 pm, and she is happy that she is able to earn a great profit.

This will be her first loan request to Kiva via Tujijenge Tanzania. Rukia will use this loan to increase her food inventory as a "mama lishe", i.e., to add more kilos of wheat flour, rice, cooking oil and condiments for spicy rice. She believes with such additions, she will be able to serve more customers and her profit will increase.

Rukia dreams of growing her business into a restaurant someday. She will be responsible for paying back the loan in full at maturity.
