Viola's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy more poultry to sell.

Viola's story

Viola is 34 years old and lives in the town of Mukono in the Mukono region of Uganda. She is married and has two children who are all currently in school. For the past three years, Viola has been working hard to manage her poultry business, which deals with the farming and selling of birds.

To help expand her business, Viola has requested a loan of 4,000,000 Ugandan shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase for more birds that she will sell so that she can get more profit and manage to the pay school fees for her kids. This will help Viola to generate greater profits and having enough profits from her business means that she can pay her kids’ school tuition. Viola hopes that in the future she will be able to boost her business more so that she can own another farm and attract more customers.

Viola is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Viola who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
