Murata Women Group's story

The lady raising her hand in the photo is Monica, a member of Murata women group in Nakuru. She is twenty six years old, married and has four children. She joined Hand in Hand Eastern Africa (HiH EA) in January 2016.

Monica practices mixed farming of maize and beans and keeping of poultry, sheep and dairy cows. She has gone through Hand in Hand Eastern Africa training (HIH EA) which has enabled her acquire skills on enterprise and financial management. She is taking a Kiva loan to buy dairy feeds. This will increase her income through which she will educate her children, provide medical care and other family needs.
