A loan helped to build a latrine.

Sros's story

Sros is a 49-year-old married woman who has three children who she is supporting. She lives a small village called Ta Skor Village in Sarikakaev Commune, which is in the Lvea Aem district of Kandal Province. To make a living and support her family, Sros manages and operates a business of weaving mats. Her husband is a farmer who grows rice and then sells his crops to local dealers. He works in his spare time as a construction worker so that he can make more income for their family. Nowadays, they can earn an average income of about 15 USD per day.

Sros wants to improve the general living conditions of her entire family by having a latrine to use. There is not a latrine at her house now. She is taking out a loan from Kiva to build a latrine. By doing this she can help her family have access to sanitation, promote their health, and help to lessen environmental deterioration. This is her first loan cycle with Kiva. Sros is thankful to all the lenders for their financial support.
