Paxixil Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to purchase beans at wholesale and buy more pigs with the goal of increasing her income and supporting her children with their projects.

Paxixil Group's story

Nine entrepreneurial ladies are in the Friendship Bridge Trust Bank “Paxixil Group,” located in the Department of Quetzaltenango. They have various businesses including textiles (tee shirts and sweatshirts), animal husbandry (chickens, ducks, pigs), a pharmacy, and a small food business. The women are beginning their second loan cycle with Kiva.

Marta is a member of the group who is married with seven children between the ages of 16 and 30. Her lack of education has not stopped her from being a pillar of strength for her large family. She raises pigs and also has a food stand. Her income has enabled her to send all her children to school, with her youngest about to finish the 9th grade!

Marta is requesting a loan to purchase beans at the wholesale level and buy more pigs, with the goal of increasing her income and supporting her children with their projects!

Marta has benefited greatly from the monthly educational trainings at her meetings, part of the “Microcredit Plus” Program of Friendship Bridge (loans + education). She shares, “I learn different things at each meeting.” Because of these trainings, she has been able to successfully invest in her businesses, which she has seen improve, as well as learn important interpersonal skills. Other topics covered include health, hygiene and nutrition.

Kiva donors are highly valued by Marta and her friends in the Trust Bank. Thank you for your kindness in funding these much-needed loans!
