Aida's Group's story
This group was created in December 2014. Its members are energetic and hard-working women who are relatives and good neighbors. Coumba, the one seated on the right raising her hand, is the star borrower. She is 27 years old, married and the mother of four children, including three daughters. With her loan, Coumba [will] buy millet and and peanuts in the village to resell at weekly market. One kg [2.2 lbs] of millet bought at 150 francs is resold at 175 francs; one kg of peanuts bought at 500 francs is resold at 600. Coumba's revenues are used to bolster her savings and improve the life conditions of her family as concerns healthcare, food, clothing and her children's schooling.
