A loan helped to buy fertilizer and onion seeds.

Martha's story

Martha is a happily married lady and a mother of three children. She is 29 years old. She is a hardworking farmer, living in Meru. Martha cultivates onions for a living, and she has been doing this for a long time. She likes planting onions since they give good returns and profit. This business has sustained the livelihood of her family and catered for their school fees. However, her challenge has been to increase her cash crops.

With this loan, Martha will buy fertilizer and onion seeds that will boost her business. This will increase her profit after sales. She intends to use the profit in paying her loan and supporting her family. She gives employment to casual laborers for planting and harvesting, to enrich their lives. Martha had taken a previous loan, which she used for growing her farming. She repaid it in time. This is the second loan that she has taken. Her dream is to become the leading onion supplier in her community and village, and to see that her children have completed their education.
