Ang Nua 2 Group's story

Truong, 23, is a young lady who is married with two children: a boy who is 8 years old and a girl who is 3 months old. They live in a Thai ethnic traditional stilt house and work at agricultural production to earn a living. Because of the instability of agricultural income, they diversify into various activities such as growing rice and corn, and raising pigs and chickens. Truong’s husband also works as a construction employee to earn extra income.

Truong’s family has been recognized as a poor household by the Vietnamese government because they not only have a low income but also lack many of the necessary living conditions such as housing and nutrition. However, not awaiting the government’s support and subsidy, Truong has taken great efforts to improve her family’s income.

Recently, Truong has taken a group loan from the Anh Chi Em program to have enough money to buy a cow. She hopes to earn a good profit when the cow gives birth to calves and she can sell them. Truong dreams that her family will have a more abundant life with better living conditions and that her children will have a brighter future. In the above photo, she stands first from the right.
