Parameshwari Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to start her own masala-making business.

Parameshwari Group's story

Parameshwari is a 41-year-old lady from Tiruchirapalli, in Tamil Nadu, India. She and her husband have a school-going son. Parameshwari works as an agricultural, daily-wage labourer, which does not provide her much income. Furthermore, the earnings are erratic, and she finds it hard to support her family. Tapping into the immensely popular masala (spice blend) making business, she has finally decided to start her own microenterprise. She wants to make and sell idly powder, sambar powder, biryani masala powder, chicken masala powder, rasam powder, and other spice mixes that are popular to use in dishes. However, to set up shop she needs to make an initial investment in raw materials, packaging, etcetera.

Therefore, she joined with four other women who have similar aspirations. They have come together, to seek a loan of Rs. 100,000 (Rs. 20,000 per member) to start their own income-generating microenterprises.
