Blanca's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped me to purchase traditional Mayan embroidery clothing from Guatemala to sell in the United States.
My name is Blanca Perez. I am a single parent and I have three kids. I had my first child at 13 with my husband and I was married for seven years. I grew up in San Marcos, Guatemala in a poor family. My parents worked in the coffee and the rice fields. We had a very large family, I had 12 brothers and sisters! I began selling tamales in a roadside stand to support my family when I was 16. I did this for many years before deciding to immigrate to the United States which I did in 1999. I had many jobs working at various American fast food restaurants like Burger King and McDonalds. I spent some time also working in a bakery. I also did janitorial work for several years like many immigrant women.
