Premeela Sohan's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase bamboo to expand her business and sell more brooms, baskets, mats, etc.

Premeela Sohan's Group's story

39-year-old Shanta, pictured in the middle wearing a purple and cream saree, hails from Alirajpur in the state of Madhya Pradesh. She is married with 4 children.

Whilst her husband is the main breadwinner for the family, Shanta does what she can to contribute to the family income. She runs her own business making brooms from bamboo, which she sells in nearby villages.

Shanta is leading a group of 7 similarly entrepreneurial women in seeking a loan of 56,000 INR so they can each expand their respective businesses. Shanta and 3 other ladies, Savita, Jheegee and Priyanka, will use the loan to expand their bamboo business, adding baskets and topli to the brooms they currently make. 2 of the ladies, Laya and Premeela, will use the loan to expand their women's accessories shop. Another lady, Dublee, will use the loan to expand a mobile repair work shop. Lastly, Ramila, will use the loan to expand a vegetable business.

With the loan, the women expect to be able to at least double their incomes, which will go a long way to providing better for their families. Help make a difference in the lives of 8 families.
