Bijampora Group Katoro's story
Jeni, who is 34 and married, Is known as the hardworking mother of two children, both in primary school. She works as a green grocer, and at the same time she runs a food vending business famously known as "Mama lishe" to support her family. She has been in this business for more than six years, working from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. She is happy that she is making some reasonable profit. This will be her very first loan request to kiva from Tujijenge Tanzania. Jeni will use the loan to purchase more seeds and manure for growing spinach and cabbages. She also plans to increase her food inventory as a "Mama lishe," i.e., to add more kilos of wheat flour, rice, cooking oil, and ingredients for making chapatti. She believes with such additions, she will be able to serve more customers, and her profit will increase. Her dream is to become a successful vegetable supplier. She will share the loan with her loan group,"Bijampora of Katoro," which has five members, who will be responsible for paying back the loan at maturity.
