Amadu's story

Amadu is a hardworking Babban Gona maize farmer from Danhauya village. Amadu lives in a modest mud house with his family. Thanks to his hard work, he feeds his family with three well-balanced meals a day.

With a Babban Gona membership, Amadu will have access to better yielding seed, fertilizer, herbicides, and other more efficient inputs that will help him optimize his farm and attain yields of up to 3.5 metric tonnes per hectare. Not only is this yield 2.3 times higher than the national average in Nigeria, it also results in an increase in income earnings, 3.5 times higher than the national average for him.

Reflecting on the great experience he has had with Babban Gona so far, Amadu is confident that with Babban Gona he will overcome poverty securing a future for generations to come.
