Celeste's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped buy beans, eggs, soap, and peanuts.

Celeste's story

Celeste, 48, is a pensioner and a merchant. She is a widow and the mother of 5 children. Four of her children are still under her responsibility. She also supports 3 grandchildren who live with her in a home she owns.

With this loan she will buy beans, eggs, soap, peanuts and soft drinks to restock her merchandise, and she will acquire a freezer for her business.

Her plans for the future are to finish construction on her home, and to make her business grow responding to her customers' needs.

She states that the biggest challenges she faces are the lack of funds and the high cost of living. To overcome these obstacles, she participates in a Xitique [an informal lending cooperative], and she is going to apply for additional loans.
