A loan helped to buy a power loom for her carpet weaving business.

Saira's story

Attention to detail, dedication, and passion for her work are what drive Saira to succeed. She is a 43-year-old woman who works in a business weaving traditional carpets. She is a power loom worker by profession because she wanted to help her husband support the family and meet the household expenses.

A loom is a device used to weave carpets and tapestries. The basic purpose of any loom is to hold the warp threads under tension to facilitate the interweaving of the weft threads. She works every day for the sake of her family, who lives in a community in Multan, Pakistan. She is working hard to develop their businesses and living at the same time. She earns a limited income to cover the needs and expenses.

Nothing is more important to Saira than her husband. That is why she is always seeking to develop her business. Her main source of income is her business weaving traditional carpets. In order to continue her success, she is now requesting a loan from Kiva's field partner BRAC Pakistan, which she will invest in buying a power loom.

Saira and her family will be thankful to Kiva, its lenders and field partner BRAC Pakistan for helping them by funding this loan to improve their living standard.
