Luis Eduardo's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to cover the costs of the final stages of the crop, buying fungicides and sacks and paying for labour for the harvest.

Luis Eduardo's story

Eduardo is a very hard-working man. He is 54 years old and is married with 5 daughters. They live in the Cahuasqui parish, which is known as a mainly agricultural area.

Eduardo has worked in agriculture from a very young age. He learnt the skills from his father and grandfather. He used to make a living buying trees from the mountains, from far away communities and these were in great demand since the main crop grown in the area is granadilla. Wooden stakes are needed for this crop to support the plants and avoid pests.

Three months ago he suffered a spinal injury with an awkward movement and now he cannot do heavy work, so he and his wife decided to focus on growing beans in order to continue to cover the family's expenses and the treatments for his back.

They are now in the harvest period and Eduardo does not have the money to pay for the final stages of the crop. This is why he is asking for a loan to buy fungicides and sacks and to pay for labour for the harvest.

He would be very grateful to Kiva for providing the help, since this work is what supports his family.
