A loan helped me get my sustainable, organic, super-food Smoothie Truck up and running, and open for business!
I moved to the Bay Area five years ago to work for a company called the Sustainable Living Roadshow (SLR), a company that teaches sustainability through educational entertainment in a traveling circus like approach . Through music festivals, street fairs, events on college campuses -- SLR engaged them all. It was here where I first conceptualized and created a pop-up smoothie café to supplement SLR’s existing attractions. With extensive knowledge and experience spanning over 15 years in the service industry -- from bar-tender to servicer and manager, I was given the green light to bring my concept to life. My idea to sell organic super-food smoothies, fruit parfaits, and other super-food infused accouterments at various venues and events. For the three years working under the SLR umbrella, we serviced more than 40 events around the country, with rave review -- SLR would eventually cease touring operations at the end of 2013. However, with SLR’s blessing, I have continued to host Smoothie Operator events as a pop up kitchen with dozens of under my belt. I aim to capitalize on my multi-faceted experience and focus on the Greater San Francisco Bay Area (via a food truck - operating daily) -- a region I believe will yield a strong demand for my concept. I am a native of N.H and have previously lived in New York City, Miami, and Orlando, but now consider the Bay Area my home. My pastimes include golf, boxing, yoga and snowboarding -- I am committed to healthy living and strive to share my passion with others. I continue an impassioned pursuit of turning Smoothie Operator into a sustainable, creative, engaging, health-centric beacon of 21st-century!
