Bharati's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase necessary ingredients and grocery items for her existing restaurant business.

Bharati's story

Bharati is a 33-year-old woman. Her family consists of her husband and three children (two sons and a daughter). All of her children are studying. Her elder son is studying in college and the two other children are reading in school. They live in Falakata in the district of Alipurduar, West Bengal.

Bharati and her husband jointly run a small restaurant in their locality. Bharati helps her husband in preparing delicious food for their small restaurant. Foods like cooked rice, curry, dal, vegetables, fish, meat etc. dishes are available in their restaurant. The local people take their lunch and dinner from their restaurant. There is a high demand for their dishes in their locality. Each and every person in their locality relishes the quality of their food.

Now with the increase in the prices of essential commodities, the costs of ingredients such as oil, rice, potatoes, salt, sugar, flour, and spices have also increased. So they are facing difficulties in continuing the existing business and satisfying the demands of their customers.

So Bharati applied for a loan from Kiva’s partner, BJS, to purchase different ingredients and food items so they can go ahead with their small restaurant business, earn a lot of profit from this business and satisfy the demands of their customers.

Bharati and her husband express their heartiest thanks to BJS and Kiva.
