Taw Hla Kone Tan Village Group's story
Included in the picture above are the group leaders of the Taw Hla Kone Tan village group, Win, Lune, Lay, and Htein. This village group is in Dedaye Township in Ayeyarwady Delta Region. The 1st person from the left in the photo, wearing a white t-shirt, is Win, the featured borrower of this village group. Forty-three-year-old Win lives with his partner in Taw Hla Kone Tan village. He is the father of four school-aged children. Win devotes himself primarily to agriculture. He has been engaged in farming since he could stand on his own two feet, and now this work supports his family's needs and pays for his children’s school fees. For additional income, he keeps dairy cows, sells their milk, and uses their manure for fertilizer. In recent years, most of the townships in the Ayeyarwady region have been underdeveloped due to various reasons, including the lack of a transportation infrastructure. Dedaye Township is starting to develop this by constructing the Ayeyarwady-Dedaye Bridge to connect Kungyangone Township with the Yangon Division. This will assist all the citizens of the area by giving them easier access to bigger markets for their harvest. This loan enables Win to purchase more crops seeds, high-quality fertilizer, pesticides, and petrol for farming equipment. Win dreams of buying more cows with the profit generated from this loan. In this way, he will be able to provide enough for his children’s education.
