Maria Cirila's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to purchase shellfish, provisions, and ice cream.
Maria Cirila's story
María is 46 years old, and a single mother. She has five children, ages 26, 19, 16, 14, and 11. The house she lived in was totally destroyed in the earthquake, and the family is living in the shelter. They are having a hard time financially, and there is no money to rebuild the house. She used to work buying and selling conch and various kinds of shellfish. Sales dropped. With the new loan from the Foundation, she will continue in the business that she had, and she will prepare food to sell to the public. She will sell empanadas, dumplings, shellfish tidbits, juice, ice cream, etc. In this way, she will move forward, along with her family.
