A loan helped my salon to help women, especially those suffering hair loss, feel confident and beautiful.

Tati's story

I was born in the Dominican Republic, where I lived until I was 16. I remember I used to play with wigs and dolls, doing curls and cutting hair. I always felt attracted by the beauty industry.

I came to Puerto Rico at age 16 with my mom and mytwo sisters. As she could not pay for my studies, I worked in a family home to help pay for my hairdressing studies. I graduated as a hairstylist at age 17, and my dream was to come to New York, which I was able to do when I was 20.
I got my New York license, completed my studies in cosmetology and bought my first business at age 22. I had it for a year and a half, until I went to Spain to study for a year. When I returned I decided to open another business and continue studying.
Talking to women everyday at my salon who were losing their hair awakened in me a compassion for them, and so I decided to take classes with the goal of professionally developing the design and manufacture of tailored, handmade wigs.
That's how I have extended my beauty services for the purpose of helping women who are losing their hair. I also became a Lecturer and Image Consultant, always striving to provide a complete service to my clients.
