Mohammed's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase a solar power system: two 150w solar panels, a 200 amp battery, a 1,500w inverter, a 30 amp solar charge controller, a DC/AC LED TV, bulbs, and cables.

Mohammed's story

Mohammed is a 54-year-old married man who lives with his wife and nine children in their small house in Sana'a governorate, Yemen.

Mohammed is the breadwinner of the family, as his wife is not working. He works in the public sector and receives a monthly salary, but his salary is low and doesn’t reflect the high increase in prices, especially in the last 16 months, since the beginning of the war in Yemen. Also, due to the current war and conflict, essential public services like electricity, gas, and water have stopped.

The lack of electricity is becoming a constant nightmare for his children and wife. They are suffering a lot and can not bear it anymore. They can not study well in the evening and watch their favorite TV programs. Also, his wife cannot operate the washing machine or refrigerator. Mohammed feels the suffering of his family, but has nothing to do with that, since the price of a solar power system is very high.

When Mohammed heard that Al-Amal Microfinance Bank has resumed its activities of providing financial services and providing loans for solar energy without interest rates, he decided to apply for a loan of 250,000 YER to purchase a solar power system: two 150w solar panels, a 200 amp battery, a 1,500w inverter, a 30 amp solar charge controller, a DC/AC LED TV, bulbs, and cables.

Mohammed hopes that he will be able to improve the living standards of his family and end their suffering.
