Gil's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to buy more hairdressing supplies and equipment, and to pay his stylists.
Despite being born male, 43-year-old Gil chose to run a parlor as he loves hairdressing and make-up since childhood. Now he makes it a hobby and source of income. He’s a sought-after hairdresser in Cabatuan, Iloilo where he has a permanent parlor and pays 3 hair stylists and a manicurist/pedicurist. Sometimes he grants the home-service requests of his clients to keep them loyal. Gil’s business not only contributes to his daily provision of food and utilities, but it also extends to his parents, siblings, nephews and nieces. Being single, they are the reason for his hard work. He dreams to build a concrete house for them. Now he wants to buy more hairdressing supplies and equipment with a 50,000 PHP loan. Part of it will be used to pay his stylists. Gil regularly meets with his co-fellowship* members at CCT Credit Cooperative every week. He finds encouragement from their inspiring stories and Bible reflections. *All CCT community partners/clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 20 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital and repay micro-finance loans.
