Angelica Maria's story

Angélica is 21 years of age. She is in a common-law relationship and has a 2 year old child. Her husband is a driver and merchant. They live in the city of Portoviejo, a place that recently suffered a terrible earthquake which destroyed many parts of the city and its economy.

Angélica is a woman who likes to work and contribute to the wellbeing of her family. She buys and sells chickens, either whole or by the pound. She buys chickens at a nearby farm, later she slaughters them and sells them to her customers that always pass by her house, or her husband delivers them to her customers at home.

She also breeds these animals but not in large quantity. She says that the earthquake caused many lost orders as part of the pen fell and the animals she had died. This is why she is asking for a new loan to finance her business and get ahead. Her dream is to improve her life and that of her family.
