Jimmy's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for the labor to plant straw, to prepare the land and then to plant other crops.

Jimmy's story

Jimmy is a 33-year-old man who lives with his partner and has three children. His business is farming. He does his work in the town of El Torno, a rural area where all the production of the area is gathered in order to distribute it to the different markets in the city.

Jimmy lives with his partner, who also farms, and with his children, who go to school. They have a house made of wood that has electricity and a well. His business is cultivating the land. He plants corn, potatoes and watermelons. On this occasion, he will plant barley so that in a short time, he can grow the straw and till it. In this way, the land will be clean and ready for planting again. He does this every three or four years for the purpose of cleaning the land. "The land is fertile. That's why we give our labor to care for it all of the time...," he comments. His work is successful because he has experience in farming.

Jimmy's advantage is that, after growing the straw, he will be able to plant other crops. His disadvantage is the he needs capital to be able to prepare the land. His dream is to buy tractors. Now he wants to pay for the labor to plant straw. This is he first cycle of loans with the institution.

It is for these reasons that Jimmy is requesting a loan to pay for the labor to plant straw, to prepare the land and then to plant other crops.
