Landus's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy more sugar, rice, and sodas.

Landus's story

Landus is 46 years old and lives in the town of Bwera in the Kasese region of Uganda. He is married and has five children, with three of them currently in school. For the past four years, Landus has been working hard to manage his retail shop, which deals in essential goods.

To help expand his business, Landus has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more sugar, rice, and sodas, and will help Landus to generate greater profits and to improve his standard of living. Landus hopes that in the future he will be able to have a wholesale shop.

Landus is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Landus who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
