Joseph's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy supportive working materials and to replace the out-of-stock kilos of goat meat to sell.

Joseph's story

Joseph is a hardworking single parent with one little son. He's in his mid thirties and has been working as a butcher, slaughtering and selling meat for about three years. He daily opens his shop at 7 a.m and closes at 4 p.m to raise his monthly profit.

This will be his third loan request from Kiva's field partner Tujijenge Tanzania. Joseph used his previous loan to increase the number of animals that he slaughters and sells per day. He's happy that he has paid back all of his loan and with the profit he earned, Joseph paid house rent, food for his family and reinvested the remaining amount.

He will use this loan to buy supportive working materials and to replace the out-of-stock kilos of goat meat to sell. He believes such improvements will uplift his profit and he will be responsible for paying back the loan at maturity.
