Parat's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to grow her weaving operations by investing in raw materials and increasing her production.
Parat is a member of the Hmong tribe and lives in Huay Hoy village. She and her husband run a lychee orchard and do some farming of corn and rice. It took Parat awhile to realize that she was interested in weaving hammocks. She has the best reading skills in her extended family, so everyone was always asking her for help to read their hammock design sheets. Finally, she decided to give weaving a shot. Now she weaves at home with several of her sisters-in-law and family members. Her husband is still working in the orchard, but no one in her family has to go out in the fields or work in slash-and-burn—all because of her weaving income!
