Maleka's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase good quality wood in a bulk for her wood selling business.

Maleka's story

46-year-old Maleka lives with her family in a small village in Falakata in West Bengal. She is a mother of three children, two sons and a daughter. Her daughter got married. Maleka is a housewife and her husband is engaged with a wood selling business with their two sons.

Maleka’s husband buys wood timber from wholesale rate from neighboring villages. Then they cut them into pieces and sell them to the local people and in local furniture shops at a profitable price. This business is the only source of income for the family. But the earnings are not enough to bear all household expenses in this era of price hikes. So Maleka wants to expand their family business to run her household in a decent way. But they do not have sufficient capital to invest in their business. That is why Maleka is asking for a loan from BJS, a Kiva partner.

She wants to utilize the loan amount to purchase more good quality wood timber in bulk for their wood selling business which will help them to engender more income to ensure financial stability in their family.

She is grateful to her lenders.
