Topista, whose hand is raised, is a member of Hakitengya 11 Womens Development Assn, a group where members guarantee each other to get loans. The mother of four children, all attending school, lives a humble life with her her family in Bundibugyo, Uganda, and her business is selling fish. She started 18 years ago. She grows and sells cocoa to earn extra income. This helps in maintaining her family’s status with the business proceeds.

Despite the challenges of inadequate capital and seasonal fluctuations of cocoa prices, Topista is determined to educate her children and construct a decent house for her family. She needs a loan to pay school fees for her children and invest the balance in the cocoa business.
