Hiek's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to dig a well.

Hiek's story

Hiek, 53 years old, is a farmer who lives in the Sdok Pravoek Village, Sdok Pravoek Commune, Rokhak Kiri District, Battambang Province. She has two children. Her husband is also a farmer. Hiek and her husband work on a small rice field next to their house. The average net profit of her family is USD 10.00 per day.

Hiek now is living far away from a water source so it is quite hard to get water for daily usage. To ensure a convenient way of getting the water, she is borrowing a loan from Kiva to dig a well just behind her house.

This is the first loan cycle for her with Kiva. She hopes that it will be easy and time-saving for her family to get the water after the well is completely made. After digging a well successfully, she is planning to build a latrine for her family.

She would like to thank all lenders who always help poor people like her to gain such great financial support.
