Saw's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay to repair the tractor, and to buy fuel for the tractor.

Saw's Group's story

Saw is 34 years old and lives with her husband and three of her children. They live in Ywar-Thit village. Three of her children go to school. Saw and her husband are farmers and they plant not only the paddy rice, but also the betel leaf.

She owns 4.5 acres of farmland for cultivation. She grows only rainy season paddy and gets 300 paddy rice baskets every year from her farm. She feels happy being farmer when she get the crops from her paddy field. She uses the profits for family food, to repay the loan, and other social costs. For next year’s paddy farming, she stores the 18 baskets of paddy seeds from her own paddy field, which means no need to buy from outside for seeds. She faces some challenges in her business with the growing impact of climate change and difficulty in hiring laborers during planting and harvesting time due to a shortage of people available.

She has requested a loan from the Soo Oo Tehtwin program, and she plans to use the money to pay for repairing the tractor and buying fuel for the tractor and for purchasing fertilizer. By getting the loan from Sont Oo Tehtwin, she can wait until the paddy price is higher before selling. In previous years she had to sell the product as soon as possible, because she needed to repay the loan with high interest rate to informal moneylenders. She usually participates as a volunteer in community activities such as cooking, preparation, etc. for donation, funerals, and weddings.
