Ahmed's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase a solar power system: a 150W solar panel, a 100Amp. battery, 12/220V LCD screen, a satellite receiver, and cables.

Ahmed's story

Ahmed is a married man who lives with his family in a rented house in Hodeida governorate, Yemen. He is 52 years old and a father of five children. The oldest one is 22 years old and the youngest is 14 years old.

Ahmed works in the public sector and earns a very low salary. Certainly, the salary hardly covers the most essential expenses including house rent. In order to earn more money, he also works as a bus driver. He is doing his best to secure good living standards for his family. Due to the current war in Yemen and high increase in fuel prices of more than 200%, his work on the bus is not making a good profit like before. Due to this, Ahmed could not accumulate the required money to purchase a solar power system to compensate that absence of public electricity, which was stopped besides other public services since the beginning of the war 16 months ago.

When Ahmed learned that Al-Amal Microfinance Bank had resumed its activities of providing financial services and providing loans for solar energy without interest rates, he decided to apply for a loan of 100,000 YER to purchase a solar power system: a 150W solar panel, a 100Amp. battery, 12/220V LCD screen, a satellite receiver, and cables.

Ahmed hopes that the war ends in Yemen as soon as possible.
