Sampa And Group's story

Sampa is one of the many hardworking entrepreneurs of today. This 30-year-old runs her own tailoring business, making ladies' and children's garments. She does this by procuring cloth from the market and creating garments in bulk.

Sampa resides with her husband and two school-going children. She and her husband are able to earn INR 6,000 a month. With prices and expenses on the rise with their growing children, they manage to scrape by financially. Therefore, Sampa wants to turn things around for the family and hence has taken up the challenge of expanding her business. She plans to purchase a new sewing machine and produce garments on a larger scale. She expects an increase of INR 1,400 in her monthly income.

Sampa has formed a joint liability group with nine other women like herself. This group seeks a loan of INR 140,000 from Gram Bikash, Milaap's partner, to fund the expansion of their respective businesses. The other women are involved in various income-generating activities such as a sweets business, handloom, clothing, etc.

Lend to these women today and help them achieve financial security.
