A loan helped to buy seeds for her market gardening.

Cesiri Group's story

Mariam is holding a bowl of pepper in her hands. Mariam is a housewife and a gardener. She is 42 years old and resides in Mali. She is very respected in her area. She lives with her husband who is a farmer and her six children, aged from 1 to 22 years old. Four of them go to school.

She has come to RMCR to finance her market gardening business that she has operated for fifteen years. The earnings that she makes, 100,000 to 150,000 CFA per season are about 25,000 CFA per month. This allows her to buy the school supplies and pay for transportation means to make going to and getting home from school easier for the children.

Her loans are used to buy seeds and fertilizer (onion, peppers, tomato) for her market garden. She gets her supplies in the nearby markets and sells her product in the same markets. She is happy about her work as she was able to buy a bicycle so the children can get to school with the income from her business.

In the future she plans to help her children attain their educational goals.
