Dipali's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to purchase a dairy cow for her dairy business.

Dipali's story

Dipali, 24 years old, is a young entrepreneur from a rural village of Kandi in West Bengal. She studied until seventh grade but could not continue her further education because of the poor financial resources of her family. She is married to Bikash and the couple has one toddler daughter.

Dipali’s husband is a driver by occupation and his income is low. His income is not sufficient to run the family smoothly. Thus, Dipali is engaged with her dairy business. Dipali is a very visionary and enterprising woman; she has been working in her milk-selling business for the last four years. She rears cows and supplies milk to her villagers. There is a good demand for cow's milk in her area, so she has chosen this business. She has gained a good clientele over the years. Now she has decided to enhance her business to serve more customers and thus, generate more profit. She decided to start a milk products business like curd, cottage cheese etc. along with milk. So she needs to buy one more cow, but she lacks capital to invest in her business.

Thus, Dipali applied for a loan from Kiva’s partner, BJS, to purchase a dairy cow for her business. She hopes this loan will give a boost to her microenterprise. Her goal is to upgrade their financial condition and business. Her future dream is to open a sweetmeat shop of her own.

Her full thanks go to both BJS and Kiva.
