Catherine's story

Catherine, age 36, is a daughter, sister and a guardian to her niece and nephew. She's from Ndola where her family still resides. Education has brought Catherine with her niece and nephew to Lusaka.

Catherine runs a business which provides a mobile money transfer service for people in Zambia. She has a diploma in auditing and is an auditor assistant. Her business helps as extra income to provide for her family in Ndola, even though it is not an easy undertaking. The major challenge she faces in her business is that she lacks capital to expand. This has incapacitated her growth. She says she has been running her business for some time now and it has remained the same.

Catherine is grateful for the opportunity to be on Kiva and intends to use this loan for all the extra expenses incurred with a growing business. Catherine's biggest dream is to grow her business, so that she can one day build a house from the proceeds of her business because the cost of rent in Lusaka is high.
